Riverside County, CA—Today, Riverside County Supervisor Jeff Stone announced receiving the endorsement of former Riverside Mayor Ron Loveridge in his campaign for California’s 28th Senate District. The endorsement is key as the former Mayor served on the Riverside City Council from 1979-1993 until he was elected Mayor. Loveridge continued to serve as Mayor until retiring in 2012 when he was replaced by current Mayor Rusty Bailey, another Stone supporter.
Mayor Loveridge citied Stone’s leadership as reason for the endorsement, “After 33 years in elected office in the City of Riverside, I recognize how important local government experience is in defining the attention and priorities of legislators in Sacramento,” said Loveridge.”Jeff Stone has been tested, and excelled, as a Council member in Temecula and as a Riverside County Supervisor.”
Responding to the news of the endorsement Supervisor Stone said, “I am humbled that such a well respected public servant has supported me to represent Riverside County in this important election. Mayor Loveridge represented the City of Riverside for more than three decades and he has a track record of accomplishments that exemplifies his commitment to his city.”
Jeff Stone continues to prove he is the choice of local leaders in the election. Within the last week Stone announced support from current Riverside Mayor Rusty Bailey and former Senator Bob Presley. Previously, Stone announced receiving the endorsement of CAL-FIRE Local 2881, Riverside Sheriffs Association, as well as scores of local elected officials from in and around the 28th Senate District.
The run-off election for the 28th Senate District will be held in conjunction with the California Statewide General election on November 4th. Jeff Stone was the top vote-getter during the June Primary election.
